Among ample RPG offerings on the Xbox 360 in 2008, Fallout 3 comes out on top. Despite solid Japanese RPG releases like Tales of Vesperia and Lost Odyssey as well as Western contender Fable II, there was only one game that took full advantage of the Xbox 360. Fallout 3 offers a lengthy and memorable adventure in a post-apocalyptic world unlike anything seen this generation thus far. None of the RPGs on the Xbox 360 this year delivered such a solid and universally appealing experience. Players just can't go wrong with Fallout 3 and its fantastic blend of varied gameplay mechanics and a realistic world is sure to create addicts out of many gamers, more so than any other game in 2008.
Runner-up: Tales of Vesperia
