Tamamayu Monogatari 2: Horobi no mushi (Story of the Jade Cocoon 2: Locusts of apocalypse), also known as Jade Cocoon 2, has been released last month in Japan for the PlayStation 2. Retaining the original's "breeding" system, the sequel to Genki's RPG has already secured a US localization by Ubi Soft and is currently scheduled to release in North America in November. While the game has generated very disappointing sales in Japan - a meager 10,000 copies the first week - , its refined graphics and anime-style character designs by Katsuya Kondou (of Kiki's Delivery Service fame) may help the game find the audience it deserves in the west.
