[TGS] Sega Pledges Even More Xbox Support at TGS

Sega kicked off Tokyo Game Show Fall 2001 in style, by announcing several high profile Dreamcast ports for all three major platforms.

One of the biggest surprises was an announcement regarding the fate of Yu Suzuki's Shenmue II. Sega has cancelled the US localization of Shenmue II for Dreamcast, which was originally due for a December 4th release in the US. Instead of appearing on Dreamcast later this year, the game is now heading for Xbox and should be released sometime in 2002. This move does only effect the US version of Shenmue II, as it seems the European version is still on track for a Dreamcast release.

Furthermore, Xbox will receive Phantasy Star Online, the highly popular online RPG developed by Yuji Naka's Sonic Team.
