Walt Disney Internet Group, the internet division of Disney has annnounced a new PC MMORPG titled Toontown Online. The game takes place in six worlds each themed after one Disney character. Players will be able to create their own Toons, who have to fight against the Crogs. The later are business robots, developed by Scrooge McDuck who run out of control and try to turn the world of Toontown into a single, large corporate building. Toontown will feature a turn-based battle system, which allows up to four players to fight against the Crogs. To ensure quick communication between players, a menu-based Speed-Chat feature has been implemented in the game. A free chat is also available, however it requires unlocking by parents through a time-sensitive password.
The game is currently in its second beta testing phase and will be released soon. As of now the game will only be available online. Players will have to pay an initial fee of 9.95USD to set up an account and 5.95USD per months. Players can create up to six toons per account.
