Atlus has announced the fourth installment of its popular Growlanser series. The PlayStation 2 title, which will be available in Japan later this year, will feature the following characters: a 17-19 year old boy named Greveniel, 16-year old Freena, a 15-year old girl named Remus as well as the Magic User types D-LN and D-TP. Those Magic Users, which will support you throughout your adventure, can be raised just like normal characters. Growlanser IV will be no sequel, but rather a compilation-like title offering an entirely new world and cast. Players will be able to customize their weapons through link weapons and magic stones. Battles will be fought in real-time. Depending on the player's fighting style, he or she might receive a bonus once a battle is successfully completed. The game's world map and towns will be of the same scale.Atlus plans to release Growlanser IV in Japan sometime in winter 2003.
