Square Enix has announced that the closed beta test for its PC MMORPG Choubukyou Taisen will begin in Taiwan at 12:00 pm on January 29th. Originally, the beta test was slated to commence last September with the game's release following in December. Its story is themed after Chinese and Japanese history and literature, in particular the Edo period (1603 - 1868) on the Japanese side and Romance of the Three Kingdoms (Sangokushi), The Water Margin (Suikoden) and Journey to the West (Saiyuuki) on the Chinese side.Choubukyou Taisen has yet to be confirmed for a Japanese or North American release.
