Chudah's Corner: In MemoriamA soundtracks special update.05.02.09 - 1:00 AM
Many of the readers here at RPGFan know Lucy Rzeminski, aka "Chudah." She once worked as the head of RPGFan's soundtracks section (2001-2003), and then went on to create her own site, Chudah's Corner. On this site, one could find thousands of soundtracks in a database with complete English tracklist translation and image scans. The site also sported translated lyrics, liner notes, basic information on singing Japanese songs, composer names (English/Japanese equivalents), and all sorts of good stuff.
Some might argue that the site became largely outmoded with the advent of the VGMdb, but my personal opinion was and is that Chudah's Corner had a lot of unique content and brought plenty of great things to the community.
However, last month, Chudah herself announced that the site would be entering an "indefinite hiatus." They're not taking the site down, but there are no more updates planned for the future.
I personally have a lot of respect and admiration for Chudah. She taught me a lot of things, and she helped mentor me when I came back to RPGFan to head the soundtracks section. So it is with heavy heart that I bring this announcement.
For collectors, however, there is some light at the end of the tunnel. Chudah was an avid collector of all soundtracks, but she was particularly good at hunting down soundtracks for obscure, Japanese RPGs and graphic adventures. And she's selling the vast majority of her collection right now, for incredibly low prices. So if you're looking for a good bargain, click this link to see what's available.
I took advantage of the sale and picked up seven soundtracks that I had never, ever seen available before. Today, I offer up reviews for these albums as a humble token of thanks to Chudah for all she's done for many VGM fans around the world. In the update, you will find music from Tokyo Majin Gakuen, Mars Story, True Love Story, Hatsukoi Valentine, and Amaranth.
