Secret of Mana iOS Review
Sage Joch may be out, but the verdict for this game is in!
05.23.11 - 12:28 AM

At E3 2010, Square Enix subtly confirmed iOS versions of two of its classic RPGs: The SNES' Secret of Mana, and the PSP edition of Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions. While the latter is still not available (but is coming as soon as next month), Secret of Mana saw release just before Christmas in North America. I put the game through its paces, enough to get most of my magic to level 8 and nab a few level 9 weapons - if that means anything to you.

With classic RPGs being re-released and ported all the time, was it worth Square Enix's time to bring this game to Apple's platform? Is it a faithful adaption of the 1993 classic? And why is there always pigs' blood in the fridge? Finally, do I really need to work a Joss Whedon reference into everything? The answers to the first two questions can be found in my review below. Oh, and there's a new gallery for the iOS version as well.
