In the last few days the latest addition to the cast of
Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2 was announced. "Cave-chan", similar to Gust and Compa before her, is the embodiment of games company Cave, makers of Xbox 360 and arcade shooters. Cave-chan is, unsurprisingly, a shooter in the Leanbox Special Forces, and patrols the country of Leanbox to maintain peace. She's friends with 5pb-chan and Chika-chan.
Dengeki PlayStation had some commentary from Makoto Asada, development head at Cave, when Cave-chan was announced. He was reportedly surprised to find the character was a cute girl rather than a macho guy. If he'd even heard of the first Hyperdimension Neptunia game then you think he'd know better.
In slightly more bizarre news, here is a video of Keiji Inafune, former head of Capcom development, being summoned into the game. The quality isn't that great so there are some additional pictures below!
Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2 is out in Japan on August 18th.
