At least Runic Games can't be accused of rushing out their titles. After months and months of not dating
Torchlight II beyond 2011, the company today confirmed what many had probably guessed by now: The game has been delayed until next year. Runic says that they would prefer to do more testing and polish on the title, and run a 'small beta' before release.
Despite all its success, the first Torchlight wasn't without its problems - though the company now has the resources to avoid some of those same issues while developing the sequel. So far the game has been in development for 18 months, although it hasn't got far to go until completion.
Torchlight II doesn't yet have an exact release date, but we'll keep you updated.
