Tecmo Koei's acquisition of Gust late in 2011, the future of the
Atelier series in North America was not certain. Would NIS America continue publishing Gust titles, or would they shift to Tecmo Koei? The answer today is, well, both.
Tecmo Koei will be publishing Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Dusk featuring a localization done by the team of NIS America. Ayesha follows a girl named, unsurprisingly, Ayesha Altugle, who has lived a hermetic life in a workshop since the death of her grandfather and disappearance of her sister. After years of making her living with crafting medicine, she learns her sister is still alive and heads out to save her.
The cast of Ayesha is brand new to this iteration, as they explore a turn-based adventure with an enhanced battle system. Characters can now attack enemies from behind in an attempt to score critical hits, while out of battle they can fine-tune their alchemical formulas even more for the best results.
Atelier Ayesha is slated to be released on March 5 for the PlayStation 3.
