As far as I know, Tsuyoshi Sekito's first work with Squaresoft is this OST, and it could possibly be his first VGM work ever. And it's a good thing, because this is definitely an AMAZING soundtrack.

The quality of the scores on this soundtrack is unknown to some; this is a shame. The music can range from cheesy/light-hearted, to dark/dramatic, and everywhere in-between. There are some techno-ish tracks on here for battles, but most of it makes use of some very realistic-sounding synth instruments. In fact, the instrumentation to this CD is so good, that many people wish that there would've been a live concert recording of it. I agree, this is the perfect kind of music to fit on a live concert CD, such as one of the Orchestral Game Concert CDs. If only they still made those...

But what's done is done, and there's little chance Square would go back now and make an arranged soundtrack for BFM. But, don't be discouraged...The OST is still sufficient for your needs. I would say that this soundtrack wraps everything enjoyable in music up into a neat little package, with few exceptions (like vocals). Overall, I recommend this CD to any VGM collector, because it's probably something you won't want to sell a couple months after buying. "This one's a keeper!"
