If you're not interested in paying for a full, four-disc set of music for Josh Whelchel's Spirit Engine 2 soundtrack, then you may want the "Selections" disc. A lot cheaper, and filtered down to the absolute best tracks, the "Selections" disc is a great experience from beginning to end.
Indeed, though I own the four disc set, I sometimes enjoy listening to the Selections disc just so I get to hear all the memorable, best-produced tracks in a row, filtering out most of the RPG-style "filler" music (which, I might add, is also good).
A lot of "Best of" discs released in the world of VGM often fail to please everyone. But it's also interesting to see these albums released when the composer himself hand-picked the tracks, like Tokyopop's "Final Fantasy IX: Uematsu's Best Selection." Here, Whelchel made these decisions himself as well, and I have to say he did a great job filtering the four discs down to one solid collection.
