It's Ys...It's Ys V...It's Orchestrated...Ahh! Ys V Orchestra Version! Refreshing... Simply stated, you don't need to be a fan of Ys or any Falcom music in general to enjoy this soundtrack. This one goes out to all the orchestra-buffs...It hits home.
A review I read at Soundtrack Central for this CD by Adam Corn said that these previously unfamiliar melodies become permanently and welcomely engraved in one's mind, after hearing the orchestrated versions. I agree 100%, I actually got this CD before the OST and this CD was much more effective at conveying the coolness of Ys V music.
Unfortunately, Ys V Orchestra is a hard find these days, with Game Music Online having recently run out-of-stock on it (permanently, might I add). eBay are good choices at this point, but you better not mind paying $35+ for this one! Note also that the reprint of this album was released as a promotional bonus item with the PC reprint of Ys V in 2003, and is also difficult to locate.
