“Coming in due time.”

These words click into place as the new trailer for Clockwork Revolution concludes — the first whiff of news fans have received on this IP in nearly two years (it even made our 2024 Most Anticipated Games feature). Couple the phrase above with the trailer’s final words uttered by a rather vulgar puppet, and it would appear that we can at least credit inXile Entertainment for having some self-awareness. Nothing freshens up the long grind of Summer Game Fest season like a bit of cheek from the developers, huh?

Firm details are still surprisingly sparse, but aside from a number of excellent pun opportunities, inXile showcased more than five minutes of Clockwork Revolution‘s gameplay and cinematics including fast and fun FPS gameplay, a look into the some extensive customization of your repertoire, a peek at the time travel components, as well as what appears to be a stylish introduction to the game’s character creator.

Want to check it out for yourself? We’ve got you covered below, along with several screenshots and a brief description of Clockwork Revolution (courtesy of Xbox).

Clockwork Revolution—the time-bending RPG from inXile entertainment – debuted a new trailer, revealing the grittier side of the steampunk city of Avalon. This is where the downtrodden steal to survive, gangs prey on the weak, and where our hero Morgan calls home. After discovering that history has been carefully crafted by the city’s ruler, Lady Ironwood, you’ll use a time travel device to go into the past and set things straight – in whatever way you see fit.

Kyle is just embarking on his main quest at RPGFan and couldn't be more excited to join the team. He discovered the RPGFan community a couple of years ago and, after growing up in Western Canada as a "jock," was thrilled to realize that there were others in the world who learned roman numerals as a teenager thanks to the Final Fantasy series. Contributing to the news team is his main objective at the site and it is his goal to project the confidence of Ron Burgundy while keeping everyone from realizing he might just be Brick Tamland.
