In this edition of RPGs Coming This Week, dating sims and devil summoners! Not in the same game, though, but I’m certain Persona enjoyers will appreciate what’s on here. I’m also certain there is at least one otome game out there that is the exact intersection of those two concepts. To round it all out, a classic game returns to modern consoles. I’m trying not to overuse the word “classic”, but the term is absolutely earned in this case. So without further ado, let’s begin!

Date Everything! – June 17th (PS5, XSX, Switch, Windows)

Date Everything! is a sandbox dating sim in which the player can date just about any inanimate object and beyond in their home. Featuring 100 fully voiced dateables, Date Everything! has a massive voice cast that provides a little something for everyone.

After AI comes in and takes the player’s customer service job, they’re delivered a mysterious package. A pair of high-tech dateviators and a cryptic message from a former… colleague? The player must form relationships with the objects in their home. Will you find romance, make friends, or enemies? In Date Everything! it’s all on the table, and also includes the table.

Nova Hearts – June 19th (PS5, XSX, PS4, Switch, Windows)

Nova Hearts is an indie visual novel dating sim touting strategic turn-based combat. Players take on the role of Luce, who has returned to her hometown of Vermillion for summer vacation. But she gets more than she bargained for, when she and two of her friends are transformed into magical girls by a mysterious cosmic superhero-creating force! Can they bring peace to Vermillion, all while possibly scoring some dates and finding love?

You’ve complete freedom to decide how you-as-Luce interact with other characters and build relationships with them. Combat seems to rely on forming combos with your teammates and strengthening your abilities. There’s even a phone app interface for texting Luce’s friends or collecting gossip interspersed between the combat and VN portions. I’m a huge fan of choice-heavy games with relationship-building dynamics, and Nova Hearts’ premise is intriguing alongside the game’s colorful visuals. I’m certainly looking forward to this game coming this week!

Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army is an improved version of the original game, Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner – Raidou Kuzunoha vs. The Soulless Army. This remaster features upgrades to the graphics, overhauled combat based on the sequel, additional voiceover work, new sidequests, and over 50 new demons added to the original’s already robust roster of demons.

Raidou Kuzunoha XIV is the fourteenth devil summoner in the Kuzunoha lineage. After training in the Kuzunoha village and passing their trials, he’s become a fully fledged devil summoner. While balancing his studies and his work at the Narumi detective agency he must use his newfound devil summoner abilities to solve cases and protect the citizenry of the capital. Will you be able to help Raidou solve the case and save the citizenry, or let the capital fall to the forces of evil?

Deus Ex: The Conspiracy – June 17th (PS5, PS4)

The original Deus Ex‘s PS2 port, subtitled The Conspiracy, is coming this week to the PS Plus classic catalog. This is regarded as a somewhat lesser version of the original PC release due to various compromises (mostly graphical) to work on the old console. You may wish to check out our review from the time it came out (2002, if you can believe it). At the end of the day, though, Deus Ex remains a seminal release in any form, so we could do far worse. Also, trophies!
