Being a big anime fan, I am always on the hunt for anime merchandise. And, as a good big brother, I’m always looking out for things my little sister would like. Well, my little sister is obsessed with Sailor Moon. She discovered ROMs on her own (I’m so proud of her…not that I condone such activities!) and she beat the translated version of the Sailor Moon RPG on her own. Granted the game wasn’t that great, but I remembered her commenting on the music. Later that week, I saw the soundtrack on eBay. That’s when I knew that this soundtrack had to be mine.
The Sailor Moon RPG music is cool for one specific reason: its music is either arrangements of the anime music, or completely new Sailor Moon music! And the music is pretty good. If you listen to a couple of the samples, you’ll notice some tracks most would not think likely of being on a Sailor Moon soundtrack. And, the synth quality on this soundtrack is simply amazing. I’m not even sure if this is the original thing or if it’s arranged, because it comes out so well on the soundtrack! I really like tracks 8 and 12, as they are very upbeat. And then, of course, the first track is a vocal not found in the game but put on the CD just to be cool.
This CD is my favorite Sailor Moon CD out of my sister’s current collection of…14 now, I think. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for good music. You can find it every now and then on eBay, just keep your eyes open.
Oh, an explanation on track 5. This track is 8 minutes long and consists of 4 songs. Each one of these songs is clipped to about 30 seconds, making a 2 minute sample.
